Colorado to Join Big 12 Amid Pac 12 Uncertainty

Conference realignment has been a recurring topic in college athletics over the past few years with four new teams (UCF, Cincinnati, BYU, and Houston) set to join the Big 12 this year, UCLA and USC heading to the Big Ten in 2024, and Texas and Oklahoma heading to the SEC in 2024.

Colorado recently announced that they will also be moving to the Big 12 in 2024 due to uncertainty in the Pac 12. The Pac-12 Conference is up for a new media deal, and there is doubt across the NCAA that they'll be able to get anything relatively close to other Power Five conferences. The Pac-12 has consistently been the low-hanging fruit of the Power Five, and there's uncertainty over whether the conference will even exist in a few years. Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah have all been rumored to be potential targets for the continued expansion of the Big 12, but what will happen with the most extensive remaining brands in Oregon and Washington?

Is the Big Ten on the table for potential expansion? Are Stanford and Cal headed anywhere? Will the Pac-12 continue to attempt to add San Diego State and SMU? Various questions remain - one of the biggest reasons Colorado pulled the trigger.
